About Claudia
Claudia brings a warm, culturally sensitive approach to therapy, with particular expertise in trauma processing and supporting older adults through life's transitions.
Who she works with:
- Adults processing trauma or difficult past experiences—using EMDR to help the mind heal what words alone cannot
- Seniors (65+) navigating aging, loss, or life changes—with patience, respect, and understanding of the unique challenges this stage brings
- Spanish-speaking clients—who prefer therapy in their first language for deeper emotional expression
Bilingual Services
Sessions are available in both English and Spanish. For many clients, speaking in their mother tongue allows for deeper emotional processing and more natural self-expression.
What Working Together Feels Like
Sessions with Claudia feel safe, unhurried, and respectful. She understands that healing happens at its own pace, and she creates space for you to process at a rhythm that feels right.
Concerned about trying EMDR? That's completely understandable.
Claudia will explain everything clearly before beginning, and you're always in control of the process. Many clients find it surprisingly gentle and effective—even when they've carried difficult memories for years.
About EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process traumatic or distressing memories in a new way.
EMDR can help with:
Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR doesn't require you to describe every detail of your experience. The brain does much of the healing work on its own, with Claudia guiding you through the process safely.
Therapy for Seniors
Claudia has particular experience working with adults 65 and older, understanding the unique challenges and transitions that come with this stage of life.
She provides support for:
- Adjusting to retirement and changing roles
- Grief after losing a spouse, friends, or family members
- Health concerns and adapting to physical changes
- Family dynamics and relationships with adult children
- Finding meaning and purpose in later life
Virtual sessions make therapy accessible without the need to travel, which can be especially helpful for those with mobility concerns or who prefer the comfort of home.

Common Questions
Is EMDR available virtually?
Yes, EMDR can be done effectively via video session. Claudia uses specialized techniques adapted for virtual delivery, and many clients find it just as effective as in-person work.
Can I do sessions in Spanish?
Claudia is fluent in both English and Spanish. Sessions can be conducted entirely in Spanish, entirely in English, or a mix of both—whatever feels most natural for you.
I'm not sure I have "real" trauma. Is EMDR still for me?
EMDR can help with many experiences beyond what we typically think of as trauma—including anxiety, grief, disturbing memories, or events that still affect you emotionally. If something from your past is still impacting your present, EMDR may help.
How is working with seniors different?
Claudia approaches therapy with older adults with particular patience and respect, understanding that this stage of life brings unique challenges and wisdom. She takes time to understand your full story and works at a pace that feels comfortable.
